I love the art style!

Nice work on the simplistic, cartoony style of the Flash; it's certainly very creative. The whole "silent cartoon" approach definitely helped make this even better, and the music is just perfect.

I hope to see more from you on Newgrounds, keep up the good work!

VieRickend responds:

There will be more, trust me. Thanks for the review.

Very Clever!

I don't have much to say about this except it's very original. You don't see many Flashes like this on Newgrounds.

The stop-motion was nice; I like how the image gradually "formed" as it was being drawn bit by bit.
Considering that the actual drawing was done in real life as opposed to just doing it in Flash; this is especially impressive. Well done!

Coddingtown-Reject responds:

Well I've seen a few, but the ones I've seen were basically using a fixed position, and not much motion besides the creation of the piece. Thanks for the review.

Not bad!

I use Liveswif myself (and was also thinking of doing a tutorial!) and I think this could be very helpful for new users to get started.

It's not spectacular (it could have used a background) but it goes over the basics, although I think the tutorial could have covered a few more topics (i.e. how to use the tools, etc.)

Apart from that, nice work!

PinballWizard976 responds:

Thanks for the review man! Watch out for a sequel! :D

Not bad, though it could use some work.

This is a fairly useful tutorial for new users if they are having trouble getting started (I especially liked how the "tools" part of the tutorial had different parts of the Liveswif program as buttons), but it could use a little more information on how to use the tools, etc.

The graphics are decent, although the "tools" part of the tutorial looks a little crowded.

You definitely need to fix the sound, though, and like other reviews have said, the Liveswif link doesn't work.

Considering that this was made in Liveswif, which is not as feature-filled as Adobe Flash, this is alright, though like I said, it needs some more work.

elbarto66 responds:

thanks for the awsome review
ya it does need work I don't know what up with the sound
I think I need to change the sound file or something

drawing and anmation!
the link is liveswifer.org
if by some reason I can't get it on the flash
thanks to everyone that review

Almost like the console game!

For someone who has never played Kurushi, I'd say you remade the game fairly accurately, except in the actual game, normal and active blocks don't reappear at the top after going off the bottom. Although I only played the demo. :P

To improve the game, I'd recommend adding some sound effects (i.e. different sound effects for when the player removes different kinds of blocks or when a row gets removed.) You could also make the blocks slightly larger or even add a feature so that a bonus row appears for getting a perfect score on a level.

RadioactiveBaby responds:

Yea, the rules are a little different but it makes it a little easier doesnt it? :P

As for the sound effects, I'm pretty crap at putting them in lol, its something I need to improve on. Thanks for your comment.

Fun time waster...

Nice work on the game, especially with the moving turrets.

You could improve this game by adding a background, some music (with a stop button, of course) and even a pause feature.

I can't stop listening to this!

I'd say this version is much better than the original, although I did listen to this first. The harmonies between the instruments help make the song varied with a nice lively rhythm, although a few parts are a little repetitive.
Apart from that, nice work!

I quite like this!

This song has a great rhythm. The instruments suit the song well, especially the backing piano, although the song can be a little repetitive at times. The way it just fades out at the end almost like the beginning adds a nice finishing touch.

Well done!

It's certainly futuristic...

This song sounds like it would suit a hectic, futuristic scene. I especially like how it's varied yet still manages to keep a sense of rhythm. Well done!

S3C responds:

thank you!

Ahh, memories. :D

Alex Kidd in Miracle World was one of the first games I ever played.

I like how the remade sprites have more depth and detail yet stayed true to the source sprites. Very nice sprite work.

Very Nice!

I like the smoky, Film-Noirish atmosphere given off by the lack of colour. The little details in the foreground as well as the silhouettes in the background really make the picture come to life.

Lurking on Newgrounds since '05.
